The next challenge that I decided upon during the Scrap-a-thon was one called: Created with Rewards. Basically, every month if you buy x amount of product in the Gingerscraps store, you get a free collection. There were two choices for this challenge. One collection was about a love of coffee and another was created around the Chinese Zodiac, and 2022 is the Year of the Tiger.
I had bought enough product, previously, to have received the coffee collection, I'm not a coffee drinker, however, so I didn't have any immediate ideas for its use. I'm sure one day something will come along and I'll figure it out. I just couldn't get my brain to do it at this point in time.
That left me with Year of the Tiger.
Thankfully, I wasn't short of ideas for this kit. Two of my kiddos have fallen in love with tigers over the years and the one who features in this layout actually signs some of his school work with his name/Tiger. It makes me chuckle.
My first thought was to do something about the first kiddo who fell in love with tigers, but I have been focusing on her a lot lately, so I went with name/Tiger. I remembered that we had taken a trip to the zoo a year or so ago and he was able to get a stuffed tiger. Being the picture-loving person that I am, I took pictures almost immediately and I went to work with them.
The layout was coming together quite nicely and I was really enjoying the almost finalized product when it came time to figure out the chevrons. And I drew a blank! It just wasn't coming to me. I wasn't liking anything I tried and I just stared at those chevrons.
I finally had the idea to make them cutouts and oh, my gosh! If I didn't like this layout before, the cutouts made it perfect!!! This layout is seriously one of my favorites from this scrap-a-thon.
