...JUST SING...

It's super rare that I will create a layout just about me. I feel awkward about it and honestly it's rare that I even have photos of just myself anyway. So this next layout is an incredibly rare one indeed.

When Connie Prince released The Work in Between, I knew that a 'personal' layout was needed. It really is kind of an awkward feeling working on these kind of projects, but there are also stories about my own being that need to be told, not just my life as a wife and mother.

At some point in time I got the crazy idea to take voice lessons. It was something I did as a teen for a short while, but eventually I had to quit. I took the chance to work on me again and was excited to perform in some form again. I quickly felt out of place, however, as I was the only adult there.

Normally, there would have been no pictures of this event because Eric was busy wrangling kids while I was performing. But, life has a funny way of making things happen. One day I showed up for my lesson slightly early and ran into my childhood friend who was picking up her daughters from their lesson. Aside from the people in my home, no one else knew I was taking lessons. So, of course, my friend was at the recital to support her daughters and she took these photos for me. And I'm glad she did as I had to quit lessons again and focus on the kids.
