Here's the quick (or not so quick) run-down of our February.
Our Side of the Hill
While most of the state was getting pounded with enough snow that pretty much every district was closing school, this is all we woke up to. The school day was also canceled in our district because it's a huge area, but it was kind of humorous for us.
We did end up getting snow later on in the day, but it wasn't nearly what anyone else received.

It's My Party and I'll Sleep If I Want To
Zach decided to take a quick little nap before all of his birthday festivities began.

Daddy's Little Monster
Shaylyn and Zach are super close and he loves snuggling up with her. On this day, she decided she'd let him wear her hat.
Yo, Bro!
We were watching a show one night and I looked over and saw Zach hanging out with Lex, they looked so cute that I just had to snap a couple of shots.
DaVinci, The Rabbit
Shaylyn has wanted a pet for probably as long as she's been alive.
For years it was a cat, but because Eric is SUPER allergic, we've always had to tell her no. Then she decided she wanted a dog. But we don't want to do more than one dog again. She then asked about a bird. The answer was again, no.
Then one day she asked about a rabbit. I'm not sure if she caught Eric on a good day or what, but he reluctantly agreed.
I had to look around to see where we might be able to find a rabbit around our parts and when I did we got in the car and made the drive. It didn't take her long to find the one just meant for her and since that day she's been in heaven.
She gave him the name of Sir DaVinci (some Chinese word). I just call him Davy (dah-vi) for short. The day after she got him, Eric had her bring him up to get to know him.
On the News
One of the news channels does this thing where they visit elementary schools in the area where they teach them about the weather and the way things happen. Our school was chosen one of the days in March and Ailey's grade was the chosen grade.
I adjusted my day just so we could catch the broadcast live only to discover they didn't get a great picture and Ailey chose to hide in the very back behind a kid taller than her.

Little Boys Fall Hard
Zach loves, loves, loves being outside. One day he was outside playing and before too long I heard the cry that means pain. I was worried about what it meant, and when he came inside I found that he scraped his face up really good.
I asked him what happened and he said he tripped and fell on the cement. He was so shaken up that he snuggled up with me and fell asleep.
Later that night, in an effort to bring his spirits up a bit, Shaylyn let him hold DaVinci and he forgot all about his injury.
I forgot to take pictures of his face the day his injury happened, but I managed to get a couple of shots a couple of days later.
Dodgeball
Our Stake Young Men's presidency came up with the idea to have a glow-in-the-dark dodgeball tournament with the young men in the stake. They had one practice game that lasted an hour and the next week was the actual tournament.
I couldn't convince Lex to go to the practice, but Nate was all in. He was so excited to play and I couldn't not take him. The excitement in him was all the push I needed. He doesn't get excited too easily, but when I saw that it was something outside of video games, I knew he needed to do it.
It was a tough game and the other ward had like all of their older boys playing and we had mostly our younger boys, but I think they all had fun. Nate was even the last man standing in one of the rounds.
When they played in the tournament I accidentally left my phone at home, so no pictures. They didn't have any adults show up, so Eric actually had to play and I was extra frustrated I didn't have my phone. We even got Lex to show up.
We put up a good fight and even though we lost the physical games, we won because other teams forfeit. In the end, I think our ward came in something like 4th place.
Transformers, in Card Form
Eric loves collectible card games, even more so when it's based on toys from his childhood. So I wasn't at all surprised when he started collecting cards for a game based on Transformers.
Because he's collected so many cards over the years, he's started to get duplicates and is sharing those with Lex and Nate. One morning they did some trading and being the camera-happy person I am, I took some pics.
Yes, my room is a mess. It was morning. I hadn't cleaned it yet. Pay more attention to the father-son bonding going on.
And with that, we welcomed March with open arms.
