...DISNEY 2021...

Years ago, when I was super new to digital scrapbooking and really only kind of dabbling around, I discovered word art. I used to have a ton downloaded on my computer, but somewhere along the way, I lost it all. I'm so glad that it is something that has stuck around and has only gotten better with time. However, I've always kind of struggled to try to incorporate it into my layouts. More recently, I've started to figure it out and I'm regaining a love for it and wish I could go back and get all the word art I had years ago.

If you haven't guessed by now, the next Scrap-a-thon Challenge I took on was a word art challenge. The word art said: finally HERE. It was up to us scrappers to figure out how to use it. I thought about it for a minute, then decided it would work perfectly with my feelings about our most recent trip to Disneyland.

As the journaling reads: "Eric and I were only a few weeks away from a couple's trip to Disneyland when the world shut down in 2020 due to Covid. Disneyland extended our tickets, but we had to cancel our hotel reservation. (And Eric had scored us an awesome room in one of the major hotels there.) We were frustrated but just kept waiting for the day Disneyland opened again.

When we got news of the reopening we quickly looked into dates so we could reserve a time for our trip. We had also decided that after the stress of 2020, especially Shaylyn's car accident, we could all use a break.

I was excited but nervous. Because our trip in 2014 wasn't all that great (Eric got super sick and spent the whole trip in a hotel bed), I was worried something would go wrong at some point this trip. When we entered the gates - all 9 of us - I let go of the breath I had been holding onto for months and was excited to say that we were finally here!"
